The School of Japanese Studies has partnership relations with the many universities of Japan: Soka, Kanazawa, Toyama, Osaka, Osaka University of Economics and Law, Tokai University Educational System, Waseda University, Niigata University of International Information, Niigata National University. Since 2001 the School delivers a course to students of the Niigata University of International Information.

The School of Japanese Studies students have good opportunities of improving their knowledge of the Japanese language in numerous educational centers, such as, e.g., International School of the Japanese Language in Sapporo, Center of the Japanese Language in Shizuoka, and ARC Academy in Tokyo. Students of the School of Japanese studies often attend classes in the universities and academic centers of Japan, while students of Vietnamese Studies do it in Hanoi University.

The Department of South and South East Asia Countries maintains partnership relations with Haiphong Teacher's Training University (Vietnam). The Department has recently started developing new partnership programs with the University of Khoshiminh, Chulalongkorn Royal University (Thailand), Siam University (Thailand) and Mahidol University (Thailand). Department of Indian Studies strengthens friendly relations with New Delhi University, Bangolor National University (India). The prevailing forms of such cooperation are student exchange programs between the above universities of Japan, Vietnam, India, and Thailand.
