The Department conducts research in the theory of Chinese, Chinese literature, methodology of phonetics instruction, Chinese hieroglyphics instruction, translation, and contemporary spoken Chinese. The faculty of this Department teaches general courses for Chinese majors, providing both theoretical base and practical training for prospective sinologists majoring in Chinese philology, Chinese economy, history of China, and management in China.
