Dr. Vladimir V. Miklushevskiy is the first President of the Far Eastern Federal University, established on October 19, 2010 on the base of Far Eastern National University according to the Order of the Russian Federation President Dmitriy A. Medvedev signed on October 21, 2009.
Dr. Miklushevskiy was appointed to this position by Russian Federation Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on October 8, 2010 after three years of work as Deputy Minister of Education and Science (2008-2010) and Director of the Department for Budget Planning and Operation of the Ministry of Education and Science (2007-2008).
During the previous 18 years he passed all levels of successful academic, research, and administrative career in the Moscow Institute (University) of Steel and Alloys (MISA), the leading national higher educational institution in this strategic field of Russian economy. Since 2002, he has been and continues the post of the Head of Rare Metals and Metal Powder Metallurgy Chair (later Chair of Metallurgy of Non-Ferrous, Rare, and Precious Metals) in MISA. In 2007, he served as MISA’s First Vice President (Provost), in 2004-2007, Vice President for Finance, and in 1998-2004, Director of Economical Planning of this university.
Dr. Miklushevskiy received his fifth year higher education (Specialist) degree in Metallurgy Engineering from MISA in 1990. He performed his doctoral (Cand.Sc.) research in MISA from 1990-93. Dr. Miklushevskiy earned his Dr.Sc. degree in Technical Sciences in 2003.
